As a Midwest Wedding Photographer, getting to know my couples during the engagement session is one of my favorite things to do. It’s just the three of us…two so deeply in love but a little nervous about their photos, and me eager to soak in all the details like a sponge.
There is no hiding that I am a sentimental person whose heart is worn proudly upon my sleeve so when Rebecca shared, she’d like to pay tribute to her family with her engagement session location
I was over the moon with excitement.
On a beautiful May evening, we met at the Formal Gardens in Frame Park, Waukesha. This location has a special significance to Rebecca’s family because not only does her grandmother volunteer as part of the beautification team for the garden, but both her brother and parents had their engagement photos here. The sentimentality touched me deeply as I love when my couples acknowledge the generations before and include them as part of their love story.
Isaac proposed to Rebecca this winter with a custom-made engagement ring featuring a center stone that he had searched for a very long time. He wanted to find the most perfect shaded Saphire to match Rebecca’s blue eyes.
I can only imagine the delightful giggles that transpired when he first slipped the ring on Rebecca’s finger.
These two have such a fun relationship that bubbles over with joy! They both desired more natural, authentic moments in their photos, so I executed my poised not posed process and then gave them silly prompts to evoke real emotion. The best part was that they continued to laugh and make their own jokes long after I was done instructing. Rebecca even commented that their relationship is filled with a lot of laughter.
I cannot wait to see these two say ‘I do’ in July at their intimate wedding in Brookfield, WI. For now, enjoy their amazing engagement session!
