Glowing Engagement Session in Lake Geneva, WI

It has been said ‘If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life’ (Marc Anthony)  I can attest that sharing in the joy of a love story hardly seems like work and I feel so very blessed to be able to do this with the very best couples!

Laura & Ryan were no exception.

It had been several years since I had the opportunity to stroll about the shores of Lake Geneva, and both Laura and Ryan had never been!  We spent a gorgeous spring evening, with summer like temperatures, walking along the Lake Path that weaves in between some of the most meticulous mansions that surround the lake, as well as explored the quaint side streets dotted with historic charm, and chased that dreamy light.

The engagement session serves as a great time for me to get to know my couples in a more intimate way.  To really see how they interact, what makes them giggle and to see their love that is not always plain as day on a Zoom call.  Their wedding day plans had changed in 2020 like so many but they decided to wed at an intimate ceremony and will be renewing their vows this summer surrounded by the original intended guest list.  So, in all actuality, this was more of an anniversary session.

I was surprised to learn Laura and Ryan had never had professional photos taken before, but also so honored to be the one to capture this incredible time in their lives.  I never want my clients to come in feeling stiff and like they always have to ‘look and smile’.  It is such a treat to just chat, give a little direction and share in the moments with them.

Laura and Ryan were delightful!

Because we had had a heatwave, Lake Geneva was bustling with beach goers, shoppers and plenty of outdoor activity.  These two embraced every congratulatory remark with big smiles and truly just radiated joy!

I could have hung out with these two ALL night!  But they had decided to make an anniversary weekend of it by booking a room at the Grand Geneva and having a romantic dinner after their session.

So as the sun was setting, we parted ways.

I truly cannot wait for their July reception in Hartland, WI when they renew their vows and celebrate their love story fully. For now, enjoy their sun soaked spring session.
